Athletes, coaches, officials and all guests, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to Montréal for the 2019 World Masters Championships.
To the athletes, your ongoing pursuit of athletic excellence is an inspiration to us all. I wish you the best of luck in your competition.
To the coaches and volunteers, your commitment and passion to the sport is one that cannot be appreciated enough. Without you, we could not hold these championships.
Through the wonder of sport and spirit fair play, I hope that you will develop new friendships and strengthen your existing ones.
After your competition, I invite you all to take a well-deserved break and enjoy all that this wonderful city, province and country has to offer!
